      Dos and Don'ts
At Hard Hat Australia, we test our products so you don’t have to.

      • Do: ensure the watch is charged using the original accessories.
      • Do: Take and receive calls
      • Do Not: swim or expose the watch to saltwater or chlorine pools for long periods, as the IP68 waterproof feature is designed for freshwater resistance only (i.e., washing it with water if it’s dirty, walking in the rain, cold showers/ice baths, etc.). Chlorine and salt can erode the inner processing chip - so always make sure to wash it with fresh water and dry it.
      • Do Not: use the watch in high-temperature environments with steam – the Hard Hat is heatproof to a degree, but steam can enter into the watch and erode the processing chip. This means you should avoid hot water baths, showers, and steam rooms. Saunas are usually okay for up to 15 minutes at a time.
      • Do Not: disassemble the device yourself.

      Best Practice Use and Care

      • Avoid Extreme Temperatures: The watch operates best between 0 - 45℃. You should be able to enter the sauna for small amounts of time, given it's not steamy, though steam rooms are not permittable.
      • Water care: While the Hard Hat is IP68 waterproof reaching up to 1.5m depths for brief periods at a time, we do not recommend swimming with the device or engaging in deep or high-pressure water activities. Steam can also cause vapour damage to the internal processor, so hot, steamy showers and baths may damage your watch. However, medium-cold showers and ice baths are fine.
      • Safe Usage: Keep the watch away from regulated electronic product areas (like petrol stations).
      • Battery care: Battery is best kept between 20-80% for longevity, so try not to let the battery drain completely. Overcharging your smartwatch can also reduce its overall battery life, as the battery will degrade more quickly.
      • Cleaning your watch: Keep your Hard Hat clean and functioning at its best by wiping it down with slightly damp microfibre towels and to avoid dirt and grime build-up.
